CRC CARE developed probeCARE™ to support cost-effective, in situ, real-time monitoring of water. This is used to improve management strategies for cropping and fertigation, using recycled water effectively and monitoring for possible pollutants to meet environmental protection agency standards.
The global population is 7.2 billion and growing. Around the world, nearly 250 babies are born every minute. This equates to 131.4 million births per year. Despite this global ‘baby boom’, the total fertility rate (TFR) – the number of babies born per woman – has declined by about half over the past 5 decades.
As CRC CARE moves into the 6th year of its 2nd funding cycle, its ‘Minimising uncertainty in risk assessment’ program saw completion of 8 projects, including 3 carryover projects from its first funding cycle. Currently, 4 projects are ongoing, with most likely to be completed in the next 1–2 years.
